Start with your customer, not your product

The most common mistake is writing about yourself — your history, your awards, your services. Customers care about their own problems first. So begin by listing the real questions people ask you.
Sit down and write 15 to 20 actual questions you hear from customers. Which fabric is best for summer? How do I maintain a leather sofa? What documents do I need for a home loan? Each of those is a potential piece of content, and each one already has demand because someone asked it out loud.
Pick one channel you can sustain
You do not need to be everywhere. Spreading yourself across five platforms usually means doing all of them badly. Choose one main channel based on where your customers spend time and what you enjoy making.
| Channel | Good if you... | Effort |
|---|---|---|
| Blog on your own site | Like writing, want long-term SEO | Medium |
| YouTube / Reels | Are comfortable on camera | Higher |
| Sell something visual | Medium | |
| WhatsApp / email | Have existing customers to nurture | Low |
For most small businesses, a simple blog on a site you own is the safest foundation because it builds search visibility you control. You can repurpose those articles into short social posts later.
